A Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider (CCTCP) holds a valid certification for two years following the date s/he receives a certificate of completion. CCTCPs have the option to renew their certification every two years.

Requirements for Renewal

Requirements for renewing a certification include:

Renewal Fee

$30 renewal fee, made payable to CTHN by the expiration date of the previously awarded certification.

Continuing Education Hours

Five (5) hours of continuing education completed by the time of certification renewal (two years following the date of certification).

When an applicant applies for renewal, s/he must upload certificates for all hours completed in continuing education.

All CTHN webinars may be used as continuing education hours for renewal. Each webinar may only be used once for continuing education hours. For each CTHN webinar used as continuing education, the participant must complete a webinar evaluation and receive a certificate of completion.

If a CCTCP chooses to utilize another source of continuing education for his/her five (5) clock hours of required continuing education, those hours must include an emphasis on trauma from a Christian perspective. For non-CTHN continuing education:

  • Proof of continuing education must be uploaded in the form of a certificate of completion (or multiple certificates if multiple courses were completed to make up the required five hours of training).
  • Acceptance of continuing education hours is at the discretion of the CTHN board of directors. If an applicant’s continuing education hours are not accepted, the applicant will receive an email with instructions on how to obtain the required hours.
  • Continuing education hours will be accepted from the following organizations, as long as the hours include an emphasis on trauma:

If an applicant is uncertain whether his/her non-CTHN continuing education hours will count toward renewal, the applicant should email support@cthn.org to request permission for his/her hours to be accepted.

Level 2 Certification

If a CCTCP-1 desires to be certified as a CCTCP-2, s/he may complete the Level 2 training at any time within the two years following completion of Level 1 certification or renewal. Once the Level 2 Training is completed and a certificate is received, that participant is then eligible to be renewed as a CCTCP-2 within two years of receiving the Level 2 Certification. The requirements for renewing Level 2 are identical to those of Level 1.

Expired Certification Renewals

If a CCTCP’s certification has expired but the CCTCP desires to renew his/her certification, s/he must email support@cthn.org to discuss options for renewing certification after expiration.
