New Endeavors, Same Calling

Beth M. Broom, Executive Director of CTHN

Happy New Year! 2026 marks the beginning of the fifth year of ministry for Christian Trauma Healing Network. We’re still so young, but we’ve seen God do great things and are excited about what’s coming next. I want to share with you some ways in which we hope to care for you this year.

Reflecting on the past four years, we marvel at the community God has built amidst CTHN. Members consistently share how supported and encouraged they feel through our training and networking opportunities, and our team has been so encouraged and challenged by the wisdom and compassion we encounter month after month. Through written content, webinars, and certification training, we remain committed to equipping you for gospel-centered ministry to those who suffer. This is the heartbeat of what we do.

In 2026 we feel called to shift our focus just slightly. Of course we still want to equip you with practical training and tools to help you minister to sufferers. But this year we want to focus on ministering to you, the helper. Excited? Keep reading!

As we look ahead to a year of encouraging and strengthening one another in ministry, our theme passage is Hebrews 10:19-25:

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

CTHN Members and friends will have three opportunities to get together face-to-face this year, so mark your calendars! We’ll host in-person gatherings at the Association of Biblical Counselors Conference April 23-26 in Ft. Worth, Texas. For those of you who haven’t attended this conference, it’s full of Jesus-loving, people-serving folks who share the common goal of compassionate and Christ-centered counseling. We’ll also host a gathering at the Christian Counseling and Education Foundation Conference October 16-18 in Virginia Beach, VA. This is another conference full of friends and like-minded counselors. Plus it’s at the beach, so who wouldn’t want to go?

Finally, we’re so excited to announce that this year we’ll offer an in-person Level 1 Training Event. We’ve been anticipating an opportunity to offer Level 1 in an in-person format, and we’ll get to do just that at 2026’s Peaceworks Live Conference September 24-26 in Winfield, WV. Details to come soon, so please watch our Instagram, newsletter, and website for more information in the coming months.

Our blog will be enhanced with content designed to encourage you as you help others, inviting guest writers to share wisdom and exhortation each month. Finally, our written content throughout 2026 will include devotional-style reflections that you can share with your counselees. We hope these devotions will encourage both you and your counselees as you work through them together.

We are excited to stir one another up to love and good works, to encourage one another, and to hold fast to our hope as we work together to care for those who suffer. Please plan to join us this year!
